Contemplating Jesus

FOREVER LIFE

Posted on by Lucinda M. Vardey

His body struck
hung on the cross
thirsting, water
pouring from his side.

Living sacrifice
God giving God
shudders the earth,
Love shattering hate.

Temple entombed
resting in rubble
all is past
the future changing.

Not stones but
water flowing
clearing, refreshing
pouring out.

Silently it trickles
eastward
a light upon
horizons.

Slowly it flows
southward
relieving the dry
with welcome.

Gentle fragrance
humming life
Light invites
the beautiful.

His pain
His gift
His promise
His presence
His ways
His beatitude
His call.

Look not here
the tomb is bare
He lives for all
Forever.
