Contemplating Jesus

Correggio: The Adoration of the Child

He didn’t come on a shining cloud
He didn’t come in thunder.
He was a king of different glories,
Not of gold and silver, silken garments, bejewelled crowns.
No home he had, no lands.
He came for the weak, the humble, the lost.
He came helpless and small.
He came poor that we might care for him.
